Rachel Cole
Rachel is currently on tour with Muriel’s Wedding in the role of Nicole Stumpf, a bridesmaid after finising her Evita contract in March 2019. Previously Rachel was in Matilda the Musical, playing the Cook and understudying Miss Honey, Mrs Wormwood and Mrs Phelps. Prior to her last 3 contarcts she was the Nessa Rose cover and swing in the Australasian production of WICKED touring to NZ, Manila and Australia. She trained in classical piano and voice before formalising her studies in the 2 year dance course at Ed5 International, Sydney. She has worked extensively for Opera Australia as an Actor/Dancer in : La Boheme, The Love of the Nightingale, The Marriage of Figaro, Die Tote Stadt and La Forza del Destino. Shortly after graduating, she was cast in both CHESS and Promises, Promises as a featured vocalist for The Production Company in Melbourne.
She also holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from The University of Sydney. Rachel works regularly as a session singer, having performed backing vocals for both Grinspoon at Homebake, James Morrison at the Sydney Jazz Festival and regularly at Slide Bar in Sydney. More recently, she was a grand finalist in the Australian Annual Cabaret Showcase and a semi-finalist in the Rob Guest Endowment. Commercially, she is the face of Optus Chat.
